About Jeli Coconut
We were all born to create, to use our imaginations to transform the world around us and inspire others to be and do better. The purpose of Jeli Coconut is to create a space to explore our imaginations and to develop creative solutions to the challenges impacting our lives.
By providing access to the arts, opportunities to experience the creative process, express themselves and actually see their creations come to life, we hope to inspire individuals to transform their lives and with it their communities.
The name Jeli Coconut was inspired by a love for storytelling and coconuts. Jeli or Jali in Malian means griot and when you really look at it each of us is the most important storyteller in our lives. We dictate what becomes part of our personal stories based on the choices we make and our ability to imagine beyond our current mundane lives and create the seemingly impossible. Coconuts are refreshing, the juice of a young coconut or jelly coconut is literally in our blood. The jelly coconut juice/water has the same make up as our blood plasma. Imagine that! Besides that, cocounts have multiple uses and purposes from food to eating utensils- the uses are only as limited as our imaginations.
